Life is a Dream – Kim Brandstrup’s ballet on Calderon’s play, with Lutoslawski’s Musique Funebre, 4th Symphony, Chain 2, Interlude for Orchestra and 4th Dance Prelude – has opened in London and Bergen. We will tour in the Autumn and Spring. See Rambert for more details.
Two CDs came out last year to great reviews: Stolen Rhythm, music by Cheryl Frances-Hoad with cellist David Cohen and oboist Nicholas Daniel and Rambert Orchestra on Champs Hill. Flux, a CD of music by Rambert Music Fellows Gavin Higgins, Mark Bowden, Kate Whitley, Cheryl Frances-Hoad and Quinta, is on NMC Records. Click on image to investigate.
Over Easter I was with Scottish Ballet conducting Sir Matthew Bourne’s Highland Fling in Glasgow and Edinburgh. July sees a recording of a new opera, and in the autumn I look forward to guesting at Northern Ballet for the first time.
